Mont-Tremblant long weekend itinerary - experience the magic of fall in Quebec’s mountain paradise

Updated: Nov 28, 2025

Mont-Tremblant in the fall is more than a destination, it’s an experience painted in warm hues and golden light. A place where colourful maple trees line the trails, the scent of maple wood floats through the and clouds touching the mountains. Whether you’re chasing foliage, indulging in spa time, or sipping hot chocolate by the fire, here’s how to spend an unforgettable fall weekend at the Tremblant.

What’s the best time to go?

Late September to mid-October for peak foliage.

How to Get There?

The nearest airport is in Montreal (YUL), followed by a scenic 1.5-hour drive to Mont-Tremblant. The route is easy to navigate, with charming small towns and picturesque stops along the way which is perfect for a family-friendly road trip through the Laurentians.

What to Pack?

Layers, hiking boots, cozy sweaters, scarf, gloves for chilly evenings, camera.

Where to stay?

  • Luxury Stay: For those looking to indulge, staying right in the heart of the pedestrian village offers both convenience and charm. Top choices include Hôtel Quintessence, an elegant lakeside boutique hotel known for its serene atmosphere and spa services, or the Fairmont Tremblant, a full-service resort with ski-in/ski-out access, upscale dining, and mountain views. Both offer a blend of comfort, style and premium amenities perfect for a relaxing and pampered getaway.

  • Budget-Friendly: If you're traveling on a budget or prefer a more local, homey experience, Airbnb has a wide selection of chalets and cottages in and around Mont-Tremblant. During our visit, we stayed in a lovely chalet about a 10-minute drive from the village, located on the quieter side of the mountain. The unit had stunning views, a cozy interior with all the essentials, and the peaceful setting made it feel like a true escape. These rentals are ideal for families, couples, or small groups, often offering more space, full kitchens, and extra perks like hot tubs, fireplaces, and access to nearby trails all at a more affordable price point.

Day 1 – Arrival + Village Stroll + Sunset Views

Afternoon: Arrive & Settle In

  • Check in to the hotel/cottage.

  • Light unpacking and enjoy the views if your accommodation offers one.

Late Afternoon: Explore the Village

  • The pedestrian village is quaint and chic with lot of local boutiques and art shops. Browse apparel stores like Kombi Au Sommet and Hatley Petite maison bleue. Explore uniques studios like the eye photography art store - Iris Galerie and Studio Creatif where you could spend the afternoon painting ceramics like mugs and vases.

  • Grab a maple latte or hot apple cider at Au Grain de Café. If you are a fan of hot cocoa or gelato, try the wide range of options for hot chocolate at Chocolato. My personal favourite is the 90% dark hot chocolate with a dash of raspberry syrup which elevated the moods against the chill winds of fall evening.

Evening: Gondola Ride to the Summit

  • Ride up for panoramic sunset views of the fall foliage. Starting at the base of Mont Tremblant Village, hop on the free open-air Cabriolet gondola that whisks you up to the heart of the pedestrian village. From there, board the Panoramic Gondola a ticketed ride (about 31 CAD) that takes you all the way to the summit. Settle in and enjoy the peaceful ascent as sweeping views of the Laurentians, Lac Tremblant, and the rolling valleys unfold before you. It’s a short ride, but the scenery is absolutely unforgettable.

  • Bring a blanket and camera because the golden hour up here is pure magic.

Dinner: Local Dining

  • Dine at La Savoie or Le Shack for mountain-style comfort food.

  • End the night with a cozy drink by a fireplace in your room or outdoor fire pit at the village

Day 2 – Outdoor Adventure + Wellness + Cozy Vibes

Morning: Foliage Hike

  • Option 1: One of my favourite ways to soak in the beauty of Mont Tremblant in the fall is by hitting the trails and with 11 of them to choose from, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re up for a leisurely walk through colourful forest paths or ready to challenge yourself with a steep climb to the summit, each trail offers its own stunning views and peaceful moments. 360 observation deck offers some great panoramic views at the summit.

  • Option 2: Domaine Saint-Bernard offers a peaceful retreat into nature. Spanning 1,500 acres, this ecotourism destination is a haven for outdoor lovers, with wide trails, serene forests, and a quiet atmosphere that makes it perfect for a day of exploring or unwinding in the fresh air. This is about 15 mins away from the village.

  • Option 3: Roche, Coulée and Corniche Loop which is about 40 mins drive from Mont Tremblant Village. This hike offers some gorgeous views of the Laurentian mountains

  • Pack water, layers, and a camera - these trails offer stunning lake-and-leaf views.

Pro tip: Go early for soft lighting and fewer crowds.

Afternoon: Post Hike Dining

  • Grab lunch at La Maison de la Crêpe and a maple dessert Oh la Vache!

Late Afternoon: Spa Time

  • Head to Scandinave Spa Mont-Tremblant for outdoor thermal baths. Embrace the cool breeze as you soak in the hot pools surrounded by trees in full colour. Warm and friendly staff, relaxing massage, outdoor baths in a forest setting is an out of this world experience. The spa is a quick 10 min drive from the village.

Evening: Pub Night or Lucky Vibes

  • Option 1: Head to Microbrasserie La Diable for local beer, poutine, and casual fun.

  • Option 2: Wrap up your day with some excitement at Casino de Mont-Tremblant, located on the Versant Soleil. Enjoy a lively atmosphere with a wide variety of games, live music, DJ sets, and fun events. Grab dinner with a view at the Altitude Restaurant, known for its warm vibe and mountain scenery. It's a short 10 min drive and there is also a free shuttle runs every 30 minutes from the pedestrian village.

Day 3 – Lake Moments + Farewell Brunch

Morning: Peaceful Start by the Lake

  • Take a slow walk by the water and watch the mist rise over Lac Tremblant.

  • Optional: rent a canoe or do a mini photo shoot.

Photo tip:

Mirror-like lake reflecting trees is really a post card postcard moment.

Brunch: End with a Feast

  • Brunch at La Sandwicherie Café + Bistro is great for both cozy and elevated eats.

Late Morning: Last-Minute Treats

  • Grab maple goodies from Cabane à Sucre de la Montagne before hitting the road. You could also pick up a souvenirs from Tremblant Souvenirs if you are someone like me who loves to collect memorabilia from the places you visit.

Final thoughts

Mont-Tremblant in the fall is a feast for the senses. It’s colourful, cozy, and endlessly charming. From scenic hikes to spa indulgences, lakeside peace to lively village evenings, it’s a weekend escape that leaves you refreshed, inspired, and already dreaming of your return.
